AUB Certificate Program
Overview
Get ready for university and your future career with the American University of Beirut (AUB) free foundation course. Learn English, Maths, Information Technology, Science and Humanities through face-to-face teaching and online-learning, as well as developing your digital-learning and study skills. If you study with us, you will receive:
- Excellent teaching by AUB Faculty Leaders and specialist instructors
- Extensive support to reach your future education ambitions
- An AUB certificate on completion
Location
Within two GHATA study hubs located in Bar Elias, Bekaa region of Lebanon, managed by the American University of Beirut (AUB) in collaboration with local NGO, Kayany Foundation.
Availability
There are 50 places for Syrian refugees and disadvantaged locals each year
General Information about the Courses
- Online component delivered using Google Classroom
- Designed to prepare you to enter universities or to pass the Lebanese Baccalaureate.
Admission criteria
- A high school graduate with an official Lebanese or Syrian baccalaureate degree or its equivalent
- Not currently enrolled at a university or college
- Demonstrate high interest in contributing and giving back to the community
- Willing and available to commit to an intensive university program
Additional information
- Program duration: Eight-months (October to June)
- Classes run in the morning, four days a week
- One day a week is set aside for self-study, capacity-building workshops and university scholarships orientation sessions
- Academic follow-up; psychosocial support; and guidance in the transition to further education or employment is provided by Student Service Coordinators
- Students receive allowance based on class attendance
